New Braunfels’ Roadway Impact Fee Advisory Committee will review collection-rate options Oct. 1 as it prepares a recommendation to City Council.
The collection-rate recommendation will shape how much new development pays toward roadway capacity projects across all New Braunfels council districts.
The Thursday packet says Kimley-Horn & Associates will bring fee-rate options and additional data requested by the committee. The complete posted package does not state the numerical options, so residents cannot yet compare possible charges from the documents alone.
From the ceiling to the charge
At its Sept. 15 meeting, the committee reviewed maximum assessable fees but asked for benchmark-city collection rates and examples for single-family, multifamily and nonresidential development before recommending what the city should actually collect.
The draft minutes distinguish the maximum assessable fee from the lower amount the committee may recommend. Members also requested information on Neighborhood Empowerment Zones, a developed-versus-undeveloped map from the prior study and comparisons with peer cities.
