The signed project terms set a $91,500 budget, with Comal County responsible for no more than $85,775 and Canyon Lake Hawks Youth Football responsible for $5,725.
A cashier’s check dated Sept. 15 identifies Canyon Lake Hawks Youth Football as the remitter and Comal County as the payee. The meeting agenda directed the county to place the money in a restricted project account.
The posted vendor estimates list one eight-row, 30-foot aluminum bleacher at $25,237.78 including freight, and one 20-by-30-foot cantilevered shade structure at $15,750 including delivery and installation. Those estimates describe components of the larger project budget; they are not the county’s final construction award.
Under the project terms, the improvements will remain county property. The county anticipates responsibility for maintenance and repairs, subject to future appropriations. If costs exceed the budget, the youth organization has 30 days after written notice to cover the shortfall; otherwise, the county may reduce or cancel the work.
