New Braunfels Utilities says Stage 2 water conservation took effect Aug. 10 under city code, 13 days after the utility announced Stage 1.
The change makes Stage 2 the current conservation status displayed on NBU’s website. It matters to customers because the utility has replaced its July 28 stage announcement with a new designation, although the preserved news-page summary does not enumerate the applicable rules.
NBU labels the Aug. 10 posting an official notice. The listing establishes the stage, effective date and governing city code; it does not state an end date or explain what conditions prompted the transition.
The official index also carries separate August updates about drinking-water quality and essential utility infrastructure. Those features do not add requirements to the Stage 2 notice.
Customers therefore need the controlling city-code provisions or a fuller NBU notice to determine which restrictions apply to a particular property.
