The Texas Education Agency launched a dashboard June 2 that brings four educator-accountability stages into one public tool: reports, investigations, certification actions and Do Not Hire Registry placements.

For parents and taxpayers, the practical gain is a single state resource for records that carry different meanings. A submitted report does not carry the same procedural status as a completed investigation or a final certification action.

TEA embedded the dashboard in a Student Protection Resource Center that also includes the public Do Not Hire Registry, educator certificate lookup and guidance for reporting suspected abuse, neglect or misconduct.

TEA says its dashboard provides public access to educator-misconduct reports, agency investigations, State Board for Educator Certification actions and Do Not Hire Registry placements.
