The two status labels answer different questions. TDLR’s “Review Complete” label belongs to the state architectural-barriers and accessibility review. It is not a New Braunfels building-permit approval, a historic approval, proof that construction began or proof that the bar will open. City filing CP2026-591, submitted July 15, was still marked INCOMPLETE with an Aug. 5 status date.
The proposal is real enough to have an address, stated design and estimated schedule, but not far enough through city review to establish when—or whether—construction can begin. That is the useful distinction for anyone wondering whether another Gruene venue is imminent.
