New Braunfels recorded 1,659 crashes within the city limits in 2025, an increase from 1,609 the previous year, according to a newly posted Vision Zero report. The Transportation and Traffic Advisory Board is scheduled to receive the report at its Aug. 13 meeting.
The most severe outcomes moved in the opposite direction. The report counts 35 crashes resulting in a fatality or serious injury during 2025, down from a combined 48 in 2024. Those 35 crashes represented 2.1% of the city’s total for the year.
The 2025 total included five fatal crashes and 30 serious-injury crashes. Another 238 crashes were classified as injury crashes, 257 as minor-injury crashes, 1,109 as no-injury crashes and 20 as unknown.
FM 306 and I-35 lead the hotspot analysis
The city’s high-injury analysis identifies hotspots at FM 306 and Interstate 35 and on northbound Loop 337 between the Ridge Hill Drive on-ramp and Paladora Drive. The report says the FM 306 and I-35 intersection had both the most incidents and the most severe outcomes on the network during 2025.
