The decisions directed $400,000 in state grants to county veterans programs, kept the main employee health-plan tier rates unchanged for 2023-24 and approved several subdivision actions. Those outcomes moved beyond the proposals listed in the court’s agenda, which had presented each matter for discussion and possible action.
The posted agenda placed 23 action items and a separate executive-session entry before the court, spanning claims, grants, plats, benefits, staffing and repairs. Commissioners first approved the county’s claims as presented. They then accepted $350 in cash donations and $250 in restaurant gift cards for Veterans Treatment Court; combined two Comal Hills lots; approved a Sattler Estates replat creating two lots; acknowledged completed private roads and drainage at Villas at Cranes Mill Marina and released its surety; accepted a letter of credit and agreement for Park Village Unit 7 revegetation, roads and drainage; and split one Mystic Shores lot into two.
The court approved a $150,000 Texas Veterans Commission grant for Veterans Treatment Court and a separate $250,000 grant for the Veterans County Service Office. It also approved an agreement assigning duties for an officer working with Veterans Treatment Court. The minutes say the service-office grant added utility-bill assistance and food vouchers, while the office planned to focus first on dental assistance.
